My name is Joseph Sekula. I live and work in deep south Texas, Edinburg, McAllen area. I’ve been a farmer, rancher all my life.
I decided to get my permit #”TX1723″ to raise deer back in 2000.In the year 2000 I was one of 400 breeders in the state of Texas. Today there are over 5000 breeders in Texas.
My first purchase for breeding animals was from one of the first people to breed deer in Texas, a man by the name of Denis Kotzur. From Kotzur’s blood lines I bought deer that came out of Clint, Twelve, and Junior, etc. Then, two years later I added twenty fawn does, ten from Alaniz whose blood lines come from Paco”Moczygemba” blood lines. The other ten fawns came from blood lines that have a little northern blood.This last year in 2007, I made another purchase from Rick Jones” R@M Rocky Creek Ranch”from Mr Jones. I purchased a two year old buck by the name of Mugsy, his father is Bambi Prickly Pear, his mother is sweetie, daughter of the famous”BB Peanut”. I also purchased from Rick Jones, two fawn bucks directly out of “Handsome”. Handsome is one of the highest scoring typical bucks in the country. Mugsy has bred thirteen of my does this last season and I will start to bred the two fawns out handsome this next fall.
I have a large inventory. Most of my deer are bottle fed, and have a good calm nature. I can provide you with what ever you like, breeders, does, shooters, and fawns, bottled or unbottled. I have good quality deer at a fair price. My deer may not be the biggest in Texas, but neither are my prices. If I can’t help you or don’t have what you are looking for maybe I know someone who can.
